Plaza Facial Surgery is dedicated to providing patient-centered, full-scope oral maxillofacial care. With its convenient location adjacent to Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, Plaza Facial Surgery offers high-quality and affordable oral maxillofacial care utilizing extensive experience and state of the art technology. We place a high emphasis on our patients’ safety and comfort, as well as our commitment to continuity of care. We handle it all — from simple to complex. Plaza Facial Surgery acts as the bridge between dentistry & medicine; offering expertise and training. Our Doctors oversee the Training Program for future Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons at Saint Luke’s Hospital. The office is extremely accessible, being one of the only oral maxillofacial centers that accepts medical and dental insurance.
Dr. Thaer Daifallah
DDS, FACS
Dr. Thaer Daifallah is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon serving as a Program Director and Associate Professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and Dentistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2009, completed his general surgery internship in 2012 and completed residency in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program in 2014, at UMKC. Furthermore, Dr. Daifallah completed his fellowship in Facial Cosmetic Surgery in Kansas City in 2015. He engages in clinical and didactic education of oral and maxillofacial surgery residents and students.
His skills and dedication to his profession have awarded him multiple honors and his strong leadership and clinical excellence have distinguished him among his peers. Dr. Daifallah has a high interest in clinical research. He has lectured nationally and internationally and has co-authored multiple book chapters on topics related to TMJ, orthognathic, facial trauma, craniofacial, and head & neck pathology.
Dr. Daifallah has a broad scope of practice in oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures and is dedicated to providing excellent care to his patients. Annually, with the help of his residents Dr. Daifallah organizes and leads a surgical medical mission to one of the globally underserved countries. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
Dr. Steven Prstojevich
MD, DDS, FACS
Dr. Prstojevich is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Prstojevich grew up in St. Louis, where he attended William Jewell College and received bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Philosophy. He earned his dental degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After dental school, he pursued an optional 1-year Hospital Dental Residency (GPR) at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri where his interest and commitment to medicine and surgery flourished. Subsequently, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine-Champagne/Urbana where he also completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After two additional years of General Surgery training, he fulfilled the requirements of a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Prstojevich has been practicing in Kansas City since July 1995 and has always been involved in an academic-affiliated private practice. Since 2008, he has served as both Medical Director of Facial and Cosmetic Surgery and Site Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Saint Luke’s Hospital. His surgical group provides facial trauma coverage for the Saint Luke’s Health System via Saint Luke’s Hospital, a regional level one trauma center.
He has a passion for sharing his expertise and knowledge through the teaching of residents and mentoring dental/medical students since 1995 as a Clinical Professor at the University of Missouri – Kansas City Schools of Dentistry and Medicine. Dr. Prstojevich has served several years as an Oral Board Examiner for both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Cosmetic Surgeons seeking Board Certification. In addition, he is a prior Board of Trustees to the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and Rhinehart Foundation, which provides educational support and scholarships for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Prstojevich continues to contribute to the profession through lecturing, clinical research, and publications. When not working he enjoys boating, hunting, shooting, and driving his 1971 M35A2 “Deuce and a Half”.
Dr. Juan Kim
MD, DDS
Dr. Juan Kim is a board-eligible oral and maxillofacial surgeon serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and Dentistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2015, and practiced as a general dentist in public health before deciding there is always more to learn and pursued oral surgery. Since then, he received a Medical Degree (MD) in 2021, completed his general surgery internship in 2022, and completed his oral surgery residency in 2024 at UMKC.
He has decided to pursue his passion of teaching and giving back to the community by staying on as faculty to help with the education of future oral surgeons in their residency at UMKC.
In his free time, he loves to play tennis, watch the performing arts (Broadway shows, ballets, etc.), take care of his dying plants, and travel. He has three cats, who may not all get along too well together.
